Why did Samakose support the conference? We observed that our irreplaceable cultural heritage and expressions are increasingly under attack, the conference seeks to raise awareness, especially among High School Students, to draw attention to the importance of cultural diversity and strengthening knowledge on peace for community development.

Empowering youth to actively participate in peace building and equipping them to become responsible citizens is vital to forging more fair, inclusive and peaceful societies which impact on the way cultural diversity is expressed and perceived, as well as on how young people learn and express themselves, represent an opportunity to respond to the challenge of radicalization.

As part of the Conference, our CEO spoke with a view to strengthening education among young people, notably the teaching and learning of technical skills and foster essential skills for integration, such as critical thinking, research and creativity, as well as openness, tolerance and respect of one’s point of view and culture, as well as that of others. By equipimg themselves with such knowledge, skills and values, education can play a critical role in enabling them to expand their choices and be resilient to any form of manipulation.
